01

Who we are

Momentum Energy is an integrated renewable energy company working across Romania. Our founders have lived and done business in Romania for 35 years, and the company carries that local footing into energy: the same discipline of building things on the ground shapes how we work on solar, storage and wind.

Our engineering and site staff have completed more than 30 solar plants, and the company holds the ANRE (Romanian Energy Regulatory Authority) certifications that allow it to design, build and test the electrical part of a power plant in its own name.

02

What we do

Six services follow a project through its life in Romania: market entry and company set-up; project sourcing and development to ready-to-build; EPC, meaning the engineering, the procurement of modules, inverters, structures and substations, and the construction of the plant and its grid connection; operations and maintenance after commissioning; energy trading, which is in preparation; and regulatory and market intelligence.

They are delivered end to end by the same team, from choosing the project to the plant in operation, so the facts gathered when a project is found are the facts used when it is built and operated. The EPC scope is turnkey: engineering, procurement and construction under one responsibility.

03

ANRE certifications

Momentum Energy holds three certifications issued by ANRE (Romanian Energy Regulatory Authority) under Order 134/2021: E1, the design of transformer stations, substations and installations belonging to the electrical part of power plants at any standardised nominal voltage; E2, the execution of the same works; and A3, the testing of electrical equipment and installations for the certification of a plant's technical compliance with the applicable technical norms. Together they cover the design, construction and compliance testing of the electrical part of a renewable energy plant and its connection to the grid.

04

Who we work with

Investors and infrastructure funds that want projects found, built and operated for them in Romania; developers and IPPs that need an EPC and O&M partner for permitted projects; Turkish industrial groups moving into the EU market; and the corporate buyers, lenders and advisors around them. Many of our counterparts arrive from Türkiye and Western Europe, which is why the site is published in Romanian, English and Turkish.

How we work

Four rules shape every project we take on and everything we publish.

  1. 01

Every figure has a date and a source

Capacity, prices, auction results and funding amounts are quoted with the date they refer to and the institution that published them: Transelectrica, ANRE, the Ministry of Energy, OPCOM, the EBRD, the EIB, the European Commission, Eurostat.

  2. 02

    Facts and opinion are separated

Our view is labelled as our view. Projections, targets and estimates are marked as such and are never presented as results.

  3. 03

Three languages, one set of facts

The site is published in Romanian, English and Turkish, and meetings with Romanian counterparts are held in Romanian, so every side of a project works from the same numbers.

  4. 04

We say what we could not verify

An assessment that lists open questions is more useful to an investment committee than one that hides them.
